About Little Rainbows Pre-school

Little Rainbows is a committee run pre-school with a strong emphasis on learning through play. 

We are a committee run Pre-school which has been offering places to local children for over 40 years.

We currently offer 26 places to children aged from two to five years, from 9am until 3pm. Our sessions run five mornings a week from 9.00am until 11.30 without lunch, or until 12.15pm to include a packed lunch provided by the parents. The afternoon session runs from 12.30pm until 3.00pm, every afternoon EXCEPT Tuesdays, and if you wish your child will be able to attend from 9.00am until 3.00pm.

Milk or water is provided by the Pre-school every day, we ask parents to provide a fruit snack.

In June 2006 we gained our Quality Assurance accreditation which has gained us Investor in Children status and have been awarded the Healthy Pre-school award every year since 2004.

We recently gained a grant from the Local Network Fund (managed by Quartet Community Foundation) to develop our SENCO role and provide resources.  All children now benefit from narrative therapy within the sessions.

All children aged three years old or over are entitled to receive the Nursery Education Grant for 38 weeks per year.  Parents may use the grant for five sessions per week in any combination that suits them.  For children who are too young to receive the grant or for those parents who wish their child to receive extra sessions our current fees are £7.00 per morning session, including the lunchtime, or £5.50 per afternoon session, payable daily, weekly, monthly or termly in advance.
