11 Jul 2007 - Little Rainbows C.I.C. Incorporated
The legal structure of the pre-school will be changing in September. The first thing to point out is that this will make no discernible difference to the day to day running of the pre-school, and so will not make any difference to session times, pricing, policies etc.
It was decided by the committee in 2005-2006 that when we were given the opportunity to change the legal structure, we should go ahead and do this as it means that there will no longer be a need for a committee as we will no longer be a registered charity. The people who will become directors of the new company, which is a type of co-operative known as a Community Interest Company, will be the staff of Little Rainbows, who after all work with the children and are in the best position to make informed decisions.
Emma and Selina will also become directors as part of their continued committment to the Pre-school, and to hopefully make a more balanced team!
The new community interest company was incorporated in June, but is not active yet and will not become active until September.
Obviously your children are our first concern and we have no doubt that the transition will be seamless and un-noticable.
We value you the parents and so if you do have any questions at all please ask Coralie, Selina, Emma or Michelle, as they are the ones who have been involved in the process so far. Sarah and Nicky will join as soon as the new company is up and running.
We are very excited about this change as we believe it can only enhance the quality of care we offer, so we can continue to build on our outstanding Ofsted report and the renewal of the South Gloucestershire Quality Assurance scheme.
